October 1, 2009 is the start of the Open Enrollment for the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA). If you are interested in establishing a handicap for golf tournaments now is the time to apply and get an extra few months of eligibility. The 2010 Annual Membership Program runs for the 2010 calendar year. The annual cost is $40.00. In order to apply I would need to have six scores from any recently played rounds. Contact me for detailed information and getting started. Anyone in the Association is welcome to apply.
For those of you that are already a member of our Affiliate Club the 2010 Annual Membership Renewal Program begins October 1 and runs through November 30, 2009. You will need to pay your yearly dues of $40.00 during that period. Failure to do so will cost you an extra $10.00 and could leave you without a valid index at the beginning of 2010.
There is an important issue I would like to bring to your attention regarding the posting of scores after your round of golf. When checking the SCGA website to verify handicaps prior to our monthly meetings and golf tournaments I find that the vast majority of our members do not always post their scores. continue
Come "Beat the Heat" at the Del Mar Racetrack next Wednesday afternoon, August 12, 2009. This will kick-off a series of social networking gatherings open to all members and their friends/families/crew members through the end of track season. No RSVP, no invoices or reimbursements to your club, just good old fashion hanging out. Wednesdays at the track there is no cost for admission, free program, ½ price beers, free seating and music near the fountain after the races. We plan on meeting at Level 3 of the Stretch Run, aka Grandstand, in sections 3/4/5. Hope you can make it out to the track Wednesday afternoon.
